What can we do as a community in Bundaberg to help ease the rental crisis?

On social media and the news we read so much about the rental crisis in Bundaberg and everywhere in Australia.

What can we do as a community to help those people in need of accommodation?

There are many home owners who do have an investment property, but have decided instead of renting through a Property Management team, they have used their property as an Air BnB and are managing it themselves.

This is one area that as a community, if those that do own an Air BnB were to convert their homes back to a rental investment, this would definitely have an impact on the rental crisis here in Bundaberg.

We are finding more and more investors who have contacted our office only to say to us, that managing an AirBnB is hard work, with check ins and check outs, cleaning, changing linen, answering enquiries, they have said it's easier just to give it to us at First National Real Estate McColms and for us to manage the property.

Yes, they may not obtain as higher return per week, but with anything, AirBnB's have peak periods and low periods of occupancy and with rental, you have a tenant consistently living in the property and paying the weekly rent.

So how many of you out there that do own a AirBnB in Bundaberg have considered putting it back into the rental pool?

Our Property Management Team would be happy to discuss this with you and this would definitely help ease the rental crisis in our region.
